I would like to take this opportunity to express to the staff at Associated Therapeutics Jump Start how grateful I am for their service to me while I have been going there. Each one is always friendly, helpful, encouraging, and ready to answer questions I may have. Thank you for a job well done. Their advice is always needed and appreciated.
I have been attending Jump Start since 2005. Since then I have lost 167 lbs and still going! The staff helped me in choosing the correct machines and exercises that would help me reach my fitness goal. I enjoy coming here because it is a noncompetitive relaxing environment. I am not a couch potato any more, I get up and move. I am so thankful to Jump Start staff for helping me get my life back. Keep up the good work.
Nine years after I retired, I found that my weight had ballooned to 184. For someone only five feet, one inch, that was far too much weight. I became concerned with the possibility of diabetes or heart attack and knew that I had to do something. I joined Associated Therapeutics Jump Start Health & Fitness, hoping that the activity would help me lose weight. For several years I occasionally worked out or joined a Stretch N’ Flex class. Nothing helped me lose the weight. My doctor suggested that I find a trainer, so at age 71 I began to train with Melody.
I had never lifted weights before so many of the exercises were difficult, but I kept trying. Over the course of a year, I lost thirty-five pounds. Currently I am working towards losing the last ten pounds of my goal. I work with Melody twice a week for an hour and usually walk on the treadmill for thirty minutes before each session. She varies the exercises so that I never do the same thing two days or even weeks in a row.
I am proud to say that my clothing size has changed and most of my clothes are much too large, some of them by four sizes. Also, I have much more energy than before. Sometimes my stamina is not as great as we would like, but that should change over time. In many respects, having Melody as a trainer is one of the best things I ever did.
